Alamo Drafthouse to Host Elegant Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale Gala in Beverly Hills

A glamorous farewell for a beloved series

Downton Abbey fans are in for an unforgettable night this September. On Thursday, September 11, Alamo Drafthouse’s Rolling Roadshow will host an opulent outdoor gala in Beverly Hills to celebrate the release of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. The one-night-only event will take place at the historic Virginia Robinson Gardens & Estate, offering guests a full evening of film, fine dining, and immersive experiences.

Immersive experience with dinner, tours, and live music

The celebration begins with a lavish English-inspired dinner and themed cocktails, complete with live music and dancing. Guests will also be treated to private tours of the grand mansion and its breathtaking gardens, creating the perfect backdrop for an evening straight out of Downton Abbey. The event includes themed photo ops, a costume gala, and keepsake collectibles for all attendees.

Special Q&A with cast members

Before the screening of The Grand Finale, attendees will enjoy an intimate live Q&A with members of the cast. Fans are encouraged to arrive in period-inspired attire or cocktail wear to fully embrace the spirit of the evening. As an exclusive souvenir, each guest will receive a limited-edition Downton Abbey teacup and saucer set—a collectible fit for any true fan.

A historic Beverly Hills venue

Built in 1911, the Virginia Robinson Gardens was the first luxury estate in Beverly Hills and remains a cultural landmark today. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, its six-acre grounds feature manicured gardens, a mansion, and a stunning pool pavilion, making it the ideal location for this cinematic celebration.

The grand finale on the big screen

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale officially opens in theaters on September 12. To mark the release, Alamo Drafthouse theaters nationwide will host “Fancy Dress” screenings throughout opening weekend, where fans can don elegant costumes and win prizes. Written by Julian Fellowes, the final chapter follows the Crawley family and their staff as they navigate the social and cultural changes of the 1930s while embracing the future of Downton Abbey.

A night to remember

“For twenty-five years, Rolling Roadshow has immersed film lovers in their favorite movies in spectacular fashion, but this is by far our most elegant production yet,” says Chaya Rosenthal, Alamo Drafthouse’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Our guests have always shown a deep love for Downton Abbey, and this gala is the perfect way to honor that passion.”
